 Annoucement: Tulis 2006 Annual Report ~ Players in the News

Paige Adams
(7 year Tulis Player and 2003, 2004, 2005 & 2006 School Girl Award winner) pictured here with the U-20 Women's National Team


Michael Nonni, 7 year Tulis player and 2006 School Boy Award winner signed with the under-19 team of Netherlands Premier League club FC Groningen and is currently one of their starting players. Michael was recently listed as one of Holland’s top youth players by KNVB (the Dutch soccer association) on their “2006 Best Players List.” Michael was also a member of the U-15, U-16, & U-17 B.C. provincial teams including the 2005 team that won the national all-star championship.

Marcus Haber, 9 year Tulis player and 2005 School Boy Award winner signed with the under-19 team of Netherlands Premier League club FC Groningen and is currently one of their starting players. This past year Marcus was awarded the “BC Soccer Youth Athlete of the Year Award” from the BC Soccer Association and he played with the U-20 National team against Belgium in September 06 in Belgium and two games against the Czech Republic in October 06 in Prague. Marcus has also been a member of the U-17 National team, the U-14, U-15, U-16 and U-17 B.C. provincial teams, including the 2005 team that won the national all-star championship. Marcus also brought home both the “Best Goal Scorer Award” and “Tournament MVP Award” from Tulis’ 2004 tour of Slovakia.

Brandon Bonifacio, 6 year Tulis player landed with the reserve team of Netherlands First Division club Cambuur-Leeuwarden. Brandon also was a member of the U-14, U-15, U-16, and U-17 B.C. provincial teams, including the 2005 team that won the national all-star championship. Brandon currently plays for Canada's U-18 national team.

Alex Martinez, 6 year Tulis player signed with Atlas, a First Division club in Mexico.

Kent O’Connor: 7 year Tulis player and 2004 School Boy Award winner; Men’s U-20 Team ~ Team Debut: April 12, 2006 vs Norway ~ International Caps: 6 ~ Played 90 minutes against Brazil on May 25 ~ Started against Brazil on May 22 ~ Played 90 minutes in a 2:1 win over Brazil on May 19 ~ Started in all three games at the 2006 Porto International Tournament.

Edin Hingwing: 3 year Tulis player; Women’s U-20 ~ Team Debut: January 18, 2006 vs T&T ~ International Caps: 12 ~ Selected to the roster for the 2006 FIFA Women’s U-20 World Championship in Russia ~ Substituted in against Australia on August 12 ~ Started against China on July 11 ~ Played 90 minutes against Finland on June 6 & 8 ~ Played 90 minutes against USA on April 23 ~ Played 90 minutes against Brazil April 17 & 22 ~ Started against USA on April 15 ~ Played 87 minutes in the final against USA on January 27 ~ Started and played the full match against Jamaica on January 22 ~ Started and played 80 minutes and scored her first goal for Canada against Panama on January 20 ~ Started and played 90 minutes against T&T on January 18, 2006

Daniel Stanese & Trevor Garafano: selected to play with the U-12 Canadian team that competed in the Danone Nations Cup in France. This tournament is endorsed by FIFA & FFF (French Football Association), organized by DANONE, and sponsored by Zinedine Zidane and is one of the world’s top tournaments for players 10-12 years old.

Alfredo Valente: Congratulations to Alfredo and his new bride, Kristen. Alfredo was one of the school’s original 12 players and the first to get married. The couple wed in December 2006.
