European Soccer School of Excellence - World Class Soccer Program - Roman Tulis - Greater Vancouver, BC, Canada: Boys
Second Dana Cup for Tulis Boys

This year’s European tour to Denmark and Sweden was nothing but a huge success for the U13 boys. At the Dana Cup Tournament in Denmark, they finished 1st in their group stage with 7 points (2 wins and a tie) scoring 11 goals and not conceding any. This was the second-ever Dana Cup championship for the Tulis boys groups. Going in to the “A” playoff matches, their 1st big task was in the quarter finals against Orgryte IS, 3rd largest professional club from Sweden. The Tulis boys played with a lot of heart and determination and scored on a free kick 25 yards from the net with only 3 minutes left in the 2nd extra time to win the game 1-0 and move on to the semi finals.
Later that same day, the boys faced a very talented home team from Denmark, F.f.I. which they beat 2-1 and found themselves in the final the next day against a very strong, high scoring team from Germany, STD Bremerhaven. The boys were able to shut down the German attack and the game was scoreless in regular time with the Tulis boys capitalizing on one of the few chances they had in the 3rd minute of the 1st extra time to make the score 1-0. They were then able to hold off the Germans for the final 17 minutes of extra time to win the 2009 Dana Cup. “What excitement in the stadium when the final whistle blew,” said team manager Andy Sulentic. “The atmosphere was electric; the boys will remember that moment for the rest of their lives!”

Spring Break Camp 2011

2011 Spring Break Soccer Camp
Boys & Girls (Ages 6 - 13)
Dates and times to be confirmed in January 2011
The Roman Tulis European Soccer School of Excellence Spring Break Soccer camp is for all levels of players. Our focus is on skill development and new techniques used every day in Europe. Our goals for each student are to learn new skills and to improve those they already have, and to learn how to make the best of their newly found skills with every team on which they play.
We believe that the value of a soccer school is only as good as its instructional staff. It is their purpose to "teach", not just to let the kids play. Roman has chosen his staff very carefully to fulfill this purpose with each and every student. We have developed an outstanding curriculum and our coaching staff offers many years of soccer experience in all phases of the game.
"I guarantee first class coaching, an enjoyable week of soccer and excellent value for your money." Roman Tulis

Canadian Boys measure Up Just Fine Against Europeans

Winning a soccer tournament is not easy. Winning a soccer tournament in Europe, some say, is nearly impossible. The Europeans have soccer in their blood; they take the game very seriously. They are out to win. The Roman Tulis U13 boys’ team went to Europe to compete, to see first hand what “football” in Europe was all about, and to see how they measured up with their European counterparts. They knew that it would take all of their skill, discipline, and determination to do well and they gave it everything they had. In the end, they proved to themselves and to the Europeans that they did indeed measure up when they earned themselves the 2nd Place trophy from the Dana Cup
Tournament in Denmark.

TULIS SOCCER SCHOOL HOLDS THEIR OWN AGAINST EUROPEAN PROFESSIONAL YOUTH TEAMS

2007 Holland Tour Team

The Roman Tulis European Soccer School of Excellence took on Europe’s best last week competing against players from some of the top youth teams in Europe at the 22nd Annual U-16 Invitational International OSM ’75 tournament in Maarssen, Holland. The Tulis team, comprised of mainly U-15 players, placed 8th out of 12 teams and found themselves up against such teams as Sporting Lisbon (Portugal), Feyenoord Rotterdam (Holland), Holland’s U-15 National Team, Bayer 04 Leverkusen (Germany), Malmo FF (Sweden) Luton Town (England) and others.
The Tulis boys, who were also awarded the tournament Fair Play Award, finished the preliminary rounds with a 0-0 tie game against Feyenoord Rotterdam, a 2-0 victory over home team OSM ’75, a 1-0 loss to Sporting Lisbon, 2-1 loss to Malmo FF, and a 2-1 loss against AZ Alkmaar. They then found themselves battling it out in the semi final game against the U-15 Holland National Team who after a hard fought battle won the game with a 2-1 victory over Canada. This put the Tulis team in an 8th place finish coming out ahead of Feyenoord Rotterdam and Luton Town England. Considering that the Tulis boys had never played together as a team before this tournament and was pitted against some of Europe’s top professional youth teams, these were fantastic results!

Playing On Foreign Fields

Marcus Haber (9 year Tulis player & 2005 School Boy Award winner) pictured here playing with the U-20 Men's National Team vs the Czech National Team, is one of four Tulis players who signed with professional youth soccer teams in 2006

Playing soccer in Europe is not only the goal of millions of Canadian soccer players; it is their dream.
Unfortunately, the odds are not usually in the majority's favor and only a handful of players from all across
Canada will realize their dream each year. So to have four players from one soccer school sign youth contracts
with pro teams all in one season has got to be some kind of a record!
This past year, four players who trained together with the Tulis school for many years signed youth contracts
with the Netherlands and Mexico. West Vancouver winger Michael Nonni and Vancouver defender Marcus Haber
signed with the U-19 team of Netherlands Premier League club FC Groningen, Vancouver winger Alex Martinez
is with Atlas, a First Division club in Mexico, and Vancouver midfielder Brandon Bonifacio landed
with the reserve team of Netherlands First Division club Camburur-Leeuwarden.
All four boys were also all part of the same 2004 Tulis team that brought home first and second place trophies
from the Tatra and Nitra Cup International Soccer Tournaments in Slovakia.
